The corporation is itself untouched by the violence. Its new Chairman, Kang, promises to utilize Yitohara's technology as a means to save mankind. A massive project to automate the world's remains begins. Land is covered with steel and cities are domed in environmentally safe chambers. Mother Earth is transformed into a nightmare of metal, wire, and lava. As the project comes to a close, Kang falsely declares himself man's savior and is anointed, by the Corporation, as Emperor Kang the First of the Planet Hokkaido.
